Terms of Service
1. Operator and scope
MateChess is operated by Individual Entrepreneur DALER ASHRAPOV, identification number 300483527, registered on 14 September 2026 with LEPL National Agency of Public Registry, Georgia.
These Terms govern the MateChess website and the in-person chess events and tournaments organised by us. All events offered in the current service are organised by the operator identified above. Event announcements provide the date, location, format, price and any additional event rules. We make these details available before you register or pay.
For enquiries, event cancellations, refund requests, complaints, privacy requests or withdrawal of consent, contact MateChess through Telegram @matechesstbilisi or Instagram @matechess_tbilisi. Please include enough information to identify your account or event and describe your request. Send personal or payment information privately, not in public comments. You may also contact the organiser directly at an event.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create or use an account, register for an event or participate. Participation by minors through a parent or another person's account is not available.
Provide accurate information, keep your login credentials secure and tell us if you suspect unauthorised access. Do not impersonate another person, share an account to bypass restrictions or create accounts to manipulate results. We may refuse admission or restrict an account if there are reasonable grounds to believe that the age requirement is not met.
3. Registration and event participation
Check the event details before registering. A website registration reserves or requests a place according to the event rules; it is not a payment. Arrive in time for check-in and follow the chess rules, organiser instructions and venue rules. Any capacity limit or check-in deadline must be stated in the event announcement.
We will inform registered participants of a cancellation or a material change using available event communications. A change does not remove your rights under the refund rules below or applicable law.
4. Payment, cancellation and refunds
Participation is currently paid to the organiser at the venue shortly before the event starts. No online payment or mandatory advance payment is collected when registering on the website. Where payment is made by bank transfer, the recipient is Individual Entrepreneur DALER ASHRAPOV. The price, currency and available payment method are communicated before payment.
- We cancel the event: any participation fee already received is refunded in full.
- We move the event to another date: you may attend on the new date or choose a full refund of the fee already paid.
- You cancel at least 6 hours before the announced start: the participation fee already paid is refunded in full. Exactly 6 hours before the start qualifies.
- You cancel less than 6 hours before the start, after the event has started, or do not attend: the participation fee already paid is not refundable for that voluntary cancellation or non-attendance, subject to your mandatory legal rights.
All cancellation times are measured against the announced start in Georgia time (Asia/Tbilisi). Notify the organiser using the event contact or directly. If no money has been paid, there is nothing to refund; an unpaid registration or non-attendance alone does not create a penalty or payment debt.
Refunds are made within 3 working days after our cancellation, receipt of an eligible cancellation request, or your choice of a refund following a date change. Working days exclude weekends and public holidays in Georgia. We may request the minimum payment information needed to identify and return the payment.
The late-cancellation rule does not apply to an organiser cancellation and does not exclude remedies for non-performance, defective performance or any other mandatory consumer right. Future online or advance payments will be introduced with updated payment information and terms.
5. Fair play and disputes
Do not submit fabricated results, collude, impersonate players, use assistance prohibited by the event format, harass others, threaten anyone or interfere with the service. Submit results honestly and use the available dispute function or contact the organiser if a result is incorrect.
We may investigate a disputed result, ask the players for relevant information and correct an error with an explanation. Ratings and results are records of play, not guarantees of future performance.
6. Current features and rewards
Diamonds, the gift shop and reward redemption are not available in the current MVP. Participation frequency does not currently entitle you to a gift. Any previously stored balance or history does not mean that redemption is available. A future rewards programme will have its own rules when introduced.
7. Your content and event photographs
Only upload material you are entitled to use. You retain your rights and allow us to store, technically process and display your material as necessary to provide the functions you choose. This does not authorise unrelated advertising use.
We may arrange event photography for event reports and MateChess promotion. Taking and using recognisable photographs for these purposes requires a separate voluntary choice: permission for event-report publication and permission for advertising are requested separately. The identified channels are Instagram @matechess_tbilisi, Telegram @matechesstbilisi and matechess.app. Advertising use includes promotional posts and paid promotion on the identified platforms, where separately agreed.
Registering, paying, attending or accepting these Terms does not itself grant photographic or marketing consent. You may decline either or both purposes without losing the right to participate. Tell the organiser if you do not wish to be photographed; recognisable group photographs must also respect participants' choices.
Consent can be withdrawn by contacting us through Telegram @matechesstbilisi or Instagram @matechess_tbilisi or directly at an event. The Privacy Policy and the separate Photography Consent Form explain how images are used and how withdrawal is handled. Consent to photographs does not include advertising emails or private marketing messages.
8. Access restrictions and complaints
We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address a rule breach, suspected abuse, an age restriction or a security risk. Where practicable, we explain the reason and allow you to seek review; urgent protective action may be taken first. Send a complaint or request for review through the contact methods in section 1, with enough information to identify the matter.
Restricting access does not extinguish a valid refund claim or your data-protection rights.
9. Availability and legal rights
The service may be temporarily unavailable or contain errors. Report problems without exploiting them to obtain unauthorised access or another person's data. We and participants remain responsible for our respective actions under applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, removes mandatory consumer protections or requires you to waive access to a competent authority or court.
10. Privacy, changes and governing law
The Privacy Policy describes personal-data processing. Acknowledging it is not blanket consent to advertising or unrelated processing.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Georgia, subject to any mandatory protections applicable to you. We may update the Terms and publish the revised version and date. Material changes will be brought to users' attention through available service communications. Changes do not retrospectively remove rights relating to an already agreed paid event.
